The mental health system funds crisis care.
We fund community.
The harm wasn't always intentional. The system was built around acuity — it waits for the net to fail you, then bills for it. What it left behind was everything else. The belonging. The context. The people who knew what you were going through because they'd been through it too.
That gap isn't an accident. It's a structural choice. And it landed on real people.
The Co-op is a restorative response. Not a lawsuit, not a protest — a transformation. We use community to repair the harm the system caused through neglect. The directory, the conversation, the circles, the net we're building together — this is what accountability looks like when the institution won't provide it.
We are not waiting for the system to fix itself. We are building what should have always been here.
Pillar one
Community
Peer support groups, belonging infrastructure, and community spaces. We connect you to what exists and we're building what doesn't. Find us in the directory and in the conversation on socials.
Pillar two
Restorative Justice
We connect you to anti-oppressive organizations and resources doing this work right now. Circles and facilitation through The Co-op are coming soon.
Pillar three
Specialized Clinical Training
Through the directory, we connect you to vetted providers offering evidenced based care including ERP for OCD, reproductive psychiatry, and CBTI. Not generic talk therapy. The Co-op's own practice opens in Los Angeles in 2027.
THE CONVERSATION
We're not waiting for the system to speak first.
Clinicians, people with lived experience, advocates, and observers saying real things plainly, in solidarity. Pull up a chair.

OBSERVATION
"The only thing that matters about a medication is whether you feel better about yourself on it or off it. Doctors measure symptoms. Patients measure how they feel. Those are not always the same thing."

AJ · Co-op contributor
RESOURCE
"DBSA LA has free peer-led groups running every week across the city. Most people don't know they exist. Now you do."
Morgan· Co-op contributor
LIVED EXPERIENCE
"The last time I was really struggling, who actually showed up surprised me. It wasn't who I expected. And it was enough."
Chandra · Co-op contributor

SYSTEM CRITIQUE
"The system waits for the net to fail you. Then it bills for it. There is no reimbursement code for community — so it doesn't get built."
Ryan · Co-op contributor
